EIACP takes Prime Minister’s message of Mission LiFE to the people
A five-day mass awareness programme promoting Mission LiFE was conducted from 20-24 March 2023 by Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme, Programme Centres and Resource Partners (EIACP PC-RP) of Delhi, Uttarakhand and Punjab. Mission LiFE launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi focuses on environmentally conscious living, promoting mindful and deliberate utilization instead of wasteful consumption. The initiative aims to create a global network of individuals called Pro-Planet People (P3) committed to adopting and promoting eco-friendly lifestyles.
About 59,500 people (including 2000 live participants through YouTube took part in the awareness programmes on Mission LiFE and its themes organized by Environmental Information, Awareness, Capacity Building and Livelihood Programme, Programme Centres . The awareness activities were conducted in Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun, targeting local communities and students. The programme inspired people to adopt eco-friendly lifestyles and create a global network of environmentally conscious individuals committed to making the world a better place.
At Haridwar, the campaign was carried out at Har-ki-Pauri, Upper and lower market and Kotwali Chowk. March past, pledge and interactive sessions were carried out at Doon University, Shree Dev Bhoomi Institute of Technology, Kingston Imperial Institute of Technology, Gurukul Kangri Vishwavidyalaya and Patanjali University. The programme witnessed active participation from various communities, students, and faculty members.
At Parmarth Niketan, the participants were informed about the significance of Mission LiFE during the evening Ganga Aarti where Swami Chidanand Saraswati and Sadhvi Bhagavati Saraswati emphasized the importance of eco-friendly living. Coordinator, WWF EIACPPC-RP, Dr. G. Areendran; SPO, WWF EIACPPC-RP, Mr. Rajeev Kumar; SPO, JNU EIACPPC-RP, Ms. Swati Singh; and IO, UKPCB EIACP PC-RP, Ms. Niharika Dimri, were felicitated by Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji with a Rudraksh Plant.
The awareness programmes were organized by various EIACP PC-RPs and hubs, including World Wildlife Fund (WWF) EIACP, JNU EIACP, IIHH SULABH EIACPPC-RP, SPA EIACP PC-RP, CPCB EIACPPC-RP, NCAP (National Clean Air Programme) team, UKPCB EIACP PC-RP, FRI EIACP PC-RP, and Punjab EIACP PC Hub.
