New Delhi, April 24, 2025: Newly formed hospitality entity ECKO Hotels and Resorts has made an official entry in India with three openings in the state of Uttarakhand offering 100 bedrooms together. This launch comprises the openings of ECKO Antarman Ganges at Haridwar, ECKO Rishikesh, and ECKO Tapovan by the Ganges as part of its initial operational chapter in the country.
Properties and Offerings
The ECKO Antarman Ganges in Haridwar is located on the banks of the Ganges, with a private ghat where visitors can enjoy riverside activities. The hotel combines traditional architectural features with modern interiors.
ECKO Rishikesh in Rishikesh is set up to host corporate and social events, with banquet halls and meeting rooms. The hotel is located in the city center, focusing on business travelers and event organizers.
On the other hand, ECKO Tapovan by the Ganges is a contemporary retreat in Tapovan, with luxury rooms, a rooftop pool, and lounge. The resort has a 24/7 bakery and pizzeria along with an all-day dining restaurant.
Brand Positioning and Approach
The company stated its philosophy to be based on individuality, local experience, and sustainability, although actual operating practices were not outlined in the press release. The company did express a focus on reducing environmental footprint and engaging with local communities, but no quantifiable measures or certifications were mentioned.
Integration of technology has been cited as part of guest service, although the degree of implementation across hotels is uncertain.
Market Entry and Future Plans
Uttarakhand was chosen as the launch site because of its combination of spiritual, adventure, and wellness tourism. Perkin Rocha, Founder & CEO, ECKO Hotels and Resorts, said, “The diversity of the state’s appeal resonates with our vision of providing diverse hospitality experiences. We think our hotels will appeal to both leisure and business travelers.”
On being asked about expansion, company officials reaffirmed plans to foray into metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore and spiritual places like Tirupati and Vrindavan. No specific timeframes or confirmed property purchases were divulged. International expansion in the Southeast Asian region was cited as a long-term option but is speculative in nature at this point.
The opening is timed as the hospitality industry in India is experiencing increased interest in spiritual and vacation destinations, with numerous old and new brands opening up pilgrimage and hill-station circuits. Execution and consistent service quality would, however, depend on whether ECKO can differentiate itself in a competitive market.
No money figures, such as investment or projected revenue, were released. The firm has focused on an experiential strategy, but external guest opinions will ultimately decide its market acceptance.
