Dubai Announces Five-Year Multiple-Entry Visa For Tourists From Top Source Market India
INDIA, 22 February 2024: Dubai has announced the introduction of a five-year multiple-entry visa for tourists from India, following a record number of Indian visitors in 2023.
The latest data from the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism reveals that 2.46 million Indians visited Dubai between January and December 2023, a significant increase from the previous year and surpassing pre-pandemic levels. The growth aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda, aimed at consolidating Dubai’s position as one of the top global cities for business and leisure.
As India is Dubai’s top source market, the Department of Economy and Tourism is actively participating in India’s leading trade exhibition, SATTE 2024, to attract new visitors and foster partnerships with the Indian travel trade. The introduction of the five-year multiple-entry visa aims to further boost travel and economic collaborations between India and Dubai, allowing holders to stay in the country for 90 days with the possibility of extension. Bader Ali Habib, Regional Head of Proximity Markets at the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, expressed gratitude for India’s contribution to Dubai’s tourism sector and emphasized the potential for increased economic collaboration. In 2023, Dubai welcomed a total of 17.15 million international overnight visitors, surpassing previous records. The city was also recognized as the top global destination in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Best of the Best Destinations Awards for the third consecutive year.
