Delhi’s dining scene has welcomed Dodicci, a new progressive Italian restaurant that brings together Italian cuisine, European influences, cocktails and hospitality in a contemporary setting.

Located in the city, Dodicci takes its name from the Italian word dodici, meaning twelve. The concept is built around the idea of a European home inhabited by twelve residents, each representing a distinct personality, taste and story. This idea extends to the bar programme, which features a collection of twelve signature cocktails.

The restaurant’s food menu uses Italian cuisine as its foundation while incorporating influences from across Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia. Italian and French culinary traditions form the core of the offering, alongside dishes that reinterpret familiar preparations through different regional influences.

The menu includes hand-rolled pastas and pizzas, alongside dishes such as Poulet Rôti with potatoes, Spanish croquettes, Brazilian tapioca parmesan and lemon meringue tart. The kitchen focuses on seasonal produce and contemporary techniques while retaining the familiarity associated with Italian cooking.

The kitchen is led by Chef Gurdev, whose culinary experience spans France and Italy. She trained in cuisine and French pastry at Le Cordon Bleu, Paris, before working at the two-Michelin-starred Le Taillevent and with Chef Inaki Aizpitarte at Le Chateaubriand. Her experience also includes stints across Paris and Saint-Tropez, as well as time in Italy’s Veneto region.

Chef Gurdev is also known in Delhi for & Daughters…, an invitation-only chef’s table that she has operated from her South Delhi home for more than five years. Her cooking at Dodicci continues to draw on her preference for allowing recipes to evolve during the cooking process rather than following traditional techniques too rigidly.

The restaurant’s interiors follow the same European-inspired approach, combining earthy tones, clean lines, handwritten details, considered lighting and music. The design draws inspiration from travel, nostalgia and lived-in European homes, creating a more informal dining environment.

Dodicci brings together food, wine, cocktails and hospitality under one roof, with the concept designed to accommodate everything from leisurely lunches and dinners to drinks that extend into the evening.

With Italian cuisine at its core and influences drawn from across Europe and beyond, Dodicci adds a contemporary interpretation of Italian dining to Delhi’s evolving restaurant landscape.
