Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of Cygnett Inn Motihari, a new brownfield hospitality project in Motihari, Bihar, further strengthening the company’s growing presence in the state and reinforcing its strategic expansion across emerging Tier II and Tier III destinations in India.

The upcoming hotel will operate under Cygnett Inn, the company’s contemporary midscale brand, and is being developed to cater to the growing requirements of business travellers, social gatherings, and leisure guests in the region.

Located in the East Champaran district, Motihari has steadily emerged as an important regional centre with increasing commercial activity and improving connectivity. The city also holds historical significance as the place associated with Mahatma Gandhi’s Champaran Satyagraha movement, while rising trade, educational activities, and regional business movement continue to drive demand for organised hospitality infrastructure.

The hotel will feature 70 well-appointed rooms along with a range of guest facilities, including an all-day dining restaurant, gymnasium, spa, and swimming pool. In addition to accommodation offerings, the project has been designed with a significant focus on meetings, celebrations, and social events.

A key highlight of the development will be its extensive banqueting infrastructure. The property will include three event venues featuring a 5,500 sq. ft. banquet hall connected to a 17,000 sq. ft. outdoor lawn, creating an ideal destination for weddings, social functions, and large-scale gatherings. The hotel will also house two dedicated meeting spaces of approximately 1,600 sq. ft. and 575 sq. ft., respectively, to support conferences, corporate meetings, and private events.

Commenting on the development, Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder and Managing Director, Cygnett Hotels & Resorts, said: “Hospitality demand in India is increasingly expanding beyond traditional metro markets. We are witnessing growing demand for quality branded accommodation and event infrastructure across emerging cities, driven by regional economic activity, improving connectivity, and evolving travel patterns. Motihari represents an important market with strong long-term potential, and this signing aligns with our strategy of strengthening our presence across high-growth destinations.”

The hotel is expected to become operational by the end of this year.
