The Kedarnath Dham has reportedly been experiencing continuous snowfall since Monday morning. Due to the weather conditions, the Uttarakhand Police have issued an advisory to pilgrims to be cautious during their journey to the Kedarnath Temple, one of the four sacred shrines in Hinduism, and have requested tourists to dial 112 for emergency assistance.

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert for thunderstorms and hailstorms in the state for the next four days. It has also issued an Orange Alert for bad weather in the state, with a warning for hailstorms, thunderstorms, and heavy snowfall in areas above 3500 m. The department has stated that it has been intermittently snowing for the past 13 days in Kedarnath Dham, and the weather is still not clear due to the snowfall.

Due to the problems caused by snowfall in Kedarnath and Badrinath, late-night Chardham yatris have been stopped by the police in Srinagar. An announcement has been made to request passengers to stay in nearby cities until the weather clears up.

In light of the current situation, pilgrims have been advised to continue their journey to Kedarnath when the weather clears up. It is important to check the weather conditions and travel advisories issued by the local authorities before embarking on any journey in Uttarakhand. Additionally, it is recommended to take necessary precautions and carry appropriate gear, clothing, and supplies to ensure safety and comfort during the trip.

The continuous snowfall in Kedarnath Dham has made the town colder, leading to concerns for the safety and comfort of travellers. The advisory issued by the Uttarakhand Police and the Indian Meteorological Department’s alert for bad weather highlight the importance of being aware of the weather conditions and taking necessary precautions while travelling.

If you are planning to visit Kedarnath or any other destination in Uttarakhand, it is advisable to stay updated on the weather conditions and travel advisories issued by the authorities. It is also recommended to carry appropriate gear and supplies to ensure your safety and comfort during the trip.
