    Chef Janice Wong To Create ‘Edible’ Maldivian-Themed Art

    Maldives, February 5, 2025: THE OZEN COLLECTION announced an exclusive collaboration with celebrated pastry virtuoso Janice Wong, who will grace OZEN LIFE MAADHOO from 24th to 26th April 2025. Renowned for her avant-garde edible artistry, Chef Wong will transform the island into a canvas of culinary innovation, offering guests a week of bespoke dessert experiences, interactive workshops, and breathtaking chocolate installations.

    A Symphony of Sweet Creativity

    During her residency, Chef Wong will unveil her signature edible chocolate wall art—a towering masterpiece crafted from sustainably sourced chocolate, designed to evoke the Maldives’ vibrant marine ecosystem. Measuring three metres tall, the installation will feature intricate coral-inspired designs, with guests invited to pluck hand-painted bonbons from its 100 ‘reef-like’ cavities. Complementing this centrepiece, Chef Wong will host live dessert stations at the private island’s overwater venues, serving delicacies such as Yuzu Meringue Clouds and Salted Caramel Lava Spheres, paired with sommelier-selected dessert wines.

    On 24th April, a four-hands gourmet dinner at the underwater restaurant M6m will see Chef Wong collaborate with OZEN LIFE MAADHOO’s Executive Chef Alok to reimagine Maldivian flavours through a dessert degustation menu. Exclusive to just 40 guests, the event promises an unforgettable fusion of local ingredients and modernist techniques.

    Younger guests are invited to unleash their creativity at daily chocolate art workshops, where Chef Wong will guide families in crafting edible masterpieces using chocolate crayons, rice paper, and miniature canvases. Each child will take home a personalised creation, alongside a keepsake brochure detailing the week’s activities.

    “The Maldives’ natural beauty is a boundless source of inspiration,” remarked Chef Wong. “At OZEN LIFE MAADHOO, I aim to blur the lines between art, nature, and gastronomy—creating moments that linger on the palate and in the memory. This collaboration is a celebration of imagination, and I cannot wait to share it with guests.”
