Chataka Tales has officially launched its range of handcrafted Indian pickles that celebrate India’s rich culinary heritage through bold, fiery flavours and sustainable sourcing. The brand is part of Wavar’s larger mission to connect farmers’ low-residue produce to conscious consumers seeking authentic and chemical-free food experiences.

Crafted using traditional recipes and locally sourced ingredients, Chataka Tales offers its products across three categories — Pickles, Spices, and Beverages. Made in small batches and free from preservatives, the range captures the nostalgia of home-style Indian pickling with a modern twist. From the intense heat of Bhut Jolokia to the tang of Banarasi Red Chilli and the uniqueness of Wild Olive, every jar delivers an authentic burst of Indian flavour that celebrates spice and tradition. In the Spices segment, the brand offers Lakadong Turmeric, Dried Bird Eye Chilli, and Dried Bhut Jolokia — bringing some of India’s finest and rarest spices to consumers, true to Chataka Tales’ ethos of purity and craftsmanship.

“Chataka Tales is our way of taking India’s clean food movement directly to the consumer. At Wavar, we’ve been helping farmers reduce chemical use through Integrated Pest Management, and now, with ChatakaTales, we’re giving that purity and authenticity a voice on the dining table. Every bottle reflects the hard work of rural communities, the flavour of our soil, and the passion of India’s spice culture”, said Joy Chakraborty, Co-founder & Director of Wavar

Positioned as a premium and homegrown brand, Chataka Tales aims to revive India’s traditional pickling methods while meeting modern standards of quality and convenience. The brand’s name — “Chataka” — represents bold, expressive, and fiery flavours, while “Tales” symbolizes stories passed down through generations.

Currently available across premium retail outlets, major e-commerce platforms, its own website, and Blinkit as a quick commerce partner, Chataka Tales plans to expand its range with chutneys, condiments, and traditional spice mixes in the coming months.

Chataka Tales is independently led by two dynamic women entrepreneurs, Divya Chakraborty and Kalyani Doifode, who serve as the brand’s Directors. Their vision is to take India’s clean food and handcrafted pickle heritage to a global audience, blending authenticity with innovation while empowering women-led entrepreneurship in the agri-food sector.

With this launch, Wavar reinforces its commitment to building a cleaner, more sustainable food chain — from empowering farmers with residue-free farming solutions to delivering honest, handcrafted food to consumers worldwide.
