Hyderabad, April 2025: Burma Burma invites food enthusiasts to celebrate Thingyan, the Burmese New Year and harvest festival, with a specially curated festive menu. Available from April 14 to May 11, 2025, the limited-edition menu will be offered at Burma Burma’s restaurants in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad, as well as for home delivery via Swiggy and Zomato.

Thingyan, also known as the Water Festival, is a time of renewal, symbolizing the washing away of the old to welcome new beginnings. This year, Burma Burma captures the essence of this vibrant celebration with a thoughtfully designed menu that highlights traditional Burmese flavors, fresh ingredients, and communal dining traditions.

The centerpiece of the festival menu is the Thingyan Tiffin Meal, priced at ₹1800++ for two. Served in a multi-tiered enamel tiffin crafted by Burmese artisans, this meal offers a delightful assortment of dishes, including:

    • Hand-tossed Broad Beans with a fried Tofu Sandwich
    • Mock Meatball Curry paired with flaky Palata
    • Tofu and Bottle Gourd Curry with aromatic Jasmine Rice and White Peas
    • Sides like Pumpkin and Bok Choy Stir Fry and creamy cashew, tomato, and preserved bean dips

Adding a playful touch is the live Hawker’s Noodle Salad, prepared tableside by an in-house hawker who customizes the dish with fresh ingredients and dressings like tamarind water and turmeric oil.

For dessert, indulge in traditional treats such as Banana Sanwin Makin, Black Rice Custard, and Sago Delight, alongside refreshing beverages like Plum Sour, Basil & Ginger, and Musk Lemon.

Ansab Khan, Head Chef at Burma Burma, shared, “Thingyan is Burma’s most joyous occasion, and what better way to celebrate than with food? Our Tiffin Meal captures the heart of a traditional Burmese feast, showcasing fresh produce, native ingredients, and regional cooking styles.”

Ankit Gupta, Co-Founder of Burma Burma, added, “The Thingyan Festival is a time for new beginnings, and our menu reflects the spirit of this celebration. The shared festive meal and vibrant atmosphere will transport you to the heart of Burma.”

To enhance the dining experience, restaurants will be adorned with vibrant decorations inspired by the Padauk flower, which blooms during Thingyan, and guests can begin their meal with a ceremonial Burmese hand wash, symbolizing renewal.
