Brightsun Travel successfully concluded its specially curated Cybersecurity Awareness Session, held as part of its ongoing commitment to safeguard customers and the wider community from the rapid rise of digital fraud. Timed ahead of International Cyber Security Day, the session brought together over 70 attendees for an in-depth exploration of today’s most sophisticated cyber threats and actionable tips to stay protected.
With cybercriminals increasingly targeting everyday users and travellers through AI-powered scams and highly personalized social engineering, the event offered clarity on how these attacks unfold and how easily they can be avoided with the right awareness. An industry expert led the session, offering a detailed breakdown of prevalent tactics such as phishing, vishing, smishing, SIM card cloning, digital arrest scams, black hat SEO manipulation, RFID-based breaches, and malicious APK/EXE file attacks.
Participants also learned about the Saadi Invitation scam, a rising form of fraud built around personal events and emotional triggers. In addition to theoretical insights, the workshop included compelling live demonstrations, including a real phishing page simulation, a fake APK/EXE attack walkthrough, and practical social engineering scenarios that revealed how quickly trust can be exploited online.
Speaking after the event, Sandeep Arora, Director of Brightsun Travel, said, “As a global travel company, the digital security of our customers and our community is paramount. Cyber threats are evolving every day, and our aim with this session was to demystify these risks and give people the knowledge and tools to protect their finances, data, and peace of mind. This initiative reflects our commitment to responsible community engagement and the overall well-being of those we serve.”
“Cybersecurity is no longer a niche concern — it’s a daily reality for every traveller, consumer, and business. My aim during the session was to break down complex threats into simple, actionable insights anyone can use. Brightsun Travel’s initiative demonstrates how responsible brands can empower communities with the right digital awareness,” said Dheeraj Vashista, the session’s external Cyber Security Trainer.
