Mumbai based NGO Earth Brigade Foundation has taken a pledge to donate oxygen concentrator machines to Forest Departments across the country. TW is happy to share the noble initiative of these green warriors in time of real crisis.

The unprecedented pandemic situation has taken the whole world on the hop. Governments and health administrations world over have been facing the toughest of challenges to provide even the basic facilities like oxygen, hospital beds, medicines etc due to the severity and rapid spread of the covid 19 virus.

“On the positive sides of the otherwise gloomy situation, we have seen many local organizations, individual groups and NGOs in India have come forward and shouldered the responsibilities of helping the needy people at different parts of the country.”

While many have helped Covid-19 patients in the second wave in India, most of the efforts have been directed in the urban areas. A Mumbai based NGO called Earth Brigade Foundation decided to take the initiative and has redirected help to our frontline wildlife protection staff of the forest departments & the poor, underprivileged people in and around the forests to have the basic emergency, life saver oxygen thru the latest model of the oxygenator machines from the reputed American brand, Devilbiss. This machine is one of the most reliable ones in the market and used by known patients and has helped save many lives.

Earth Brigade foundation has provided 25 oxygen concentrator machines along with disposable nasal canulas to be used in case of an emergency until help reaches the patient or the patient can reach the nearest healthcare centers for the treatment or use it for days after the initial recovery until the weaning off is successful.

A member associated with the Foundation shared with us that “these initiatives enable us to provide life saving breaths of life to the forest department staff and locals who help us protect Mother Nature in these remote forested regions. These guardians are entrusted to prevent such Pandemics by protecting our natural forests and safeguarding our environment and it’s our primary duty to protect them.” Earth Brigade Foundation  have provided the oxygen concentrator machines across the forest departments in the country in 7 states in India –  Karnataka -7, Nagarhole NP -2, Bandipur NP-2, BRT Hills NP-2, Cauvery WLS-1 ,.
