Barbeque Nation brings a limited period Malabar & Beyond Coastal Food Festival to its Lulu Mall outlet in Bengaluru, curated by MasterChef India Season 8 winner, Chef Mohammed Ashiq. Inspired by the southern coastline, the festival showcases bold flavours from Kerala, Mangalore, Goa, and Andhra, using coconut, curry leaves, tamarind, black pepper, red chilli, and coastal spice blends.
The specially curated menu features standout dishes like Prawn Skewers, Crispy Silver Fish Rava Fry, Squid Ghee Roast, Malvani Fish Curry, Coastal Andhra Crab Roast Masala, and Ashiq’s Special Prawns Biryani, along with coastal classics like Goan Fish Soup and desserts such as Tender Coconut Pudding.
Chef Mohammed Ashiq, winner of MasterChef India Season 8 (2023), is known for his expertise in coastal and Mangalorean cuisine. Hailing from Mangaluru, his cooking reflects strong regional flavours with a modern touch. From humble beginnings to running ventures like NOSH and MASARA, he has hosted multiple food festivals across India and internationally.
