    Kolhapur, October 2024: Barbeque Nation at Sayaji Kolhapur hosts the Grand Trunk Road Food Festival, aptly titled The Highway Tales, from October 18 to October 27, 2024. This culinary event celebrates the rich and diverse traditions found along the historic Grand Trunk Road, which stretches across Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Kabul.

    “We are excited to bring together diverse flavors from along the Grand Trunk Road. Each dish tells a story of its origin and reflects our commitment to authenticity and quality,” said Chef Kishan Gunjal, Executive Chef, Sayaji Kolhapur.

    The décor of The Highway Tales is thoughtfully curated to transport guests into a vibrant atmosphere reminiscent of life on the road. Artistic representations of milestones, roads, trucks, and cutouts of famous structures from states along the Grand Trunk Road create an immersive setting that enhances the dining experience. Adding to the charm, the staff at Barbeque Nation are dressed in traditional highway-inspired attire, specifically pathani outfits. This choice not only aligns with the theme but also enriches the overall experience by providing an authentic touch that resonates with the cultural significance of the event.

    The menu is a feast for the senses, showcasing an array of authentic dishes that reflect the rich culinary heritage of the regions along the Grand Trunk Road. Highlights include Banno Kebab, Kasundi Chingri, Makka Malai Seek, Tash Paneer, Kundan Kalian, Murgh Pushtoon, Afghan Gosht Kofta, Murshidabadi Biriyani, Lazeez-e-Chaman, and Saljam Bharta. Each dish is carefully prepared to ensure authenticity, allowing guests to indulge in flavors that have been passed down through generations. The festival promises an unforgettable experience for food enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike.
