50 km frm Jaisalmer railway station and you will find yourself in the middle of an ‘Arabaian Night fairy tale”.  The little village Khuri is located literally in the middle of nowhere right on the lap of famous Thar Desert of rajasthan.

The lovely drive from Jaisalmer down the lonely highway will take you to this typical desert village . Baddal Singh the very popular among travelers in this part of the world and well respected person in the village would welcome you with a smiling face to his ‘Baddal house”. Apparently this would look like any other houses in the same village with small huts made of golden stones , camels grazing around the house , old men sitting lazily on a charpai , ladies with faces fully covered by colorful veils working on the kitchen , washing utensils with sands ( water being extremely precious there) , children playing outside . However, once you enter, Baddal house would ensure all your basic needs and cleanliness. In The day time the amazing stones would make the temperature much cooler inside the house inspite of the horrendous desert heat outside. These days, although there are number of private tourism camps are building their tents /camps in the area, still for the travelers out to enjoy and feel the unadulterated local experience, a home-stay at Baddal Singh’s house should be the best choice to make.

During your stay, one day he would arrange ‘a night out ‘for the adventure lovers. Unlike a few tourist spots where they made you ride a camel on a made-up environment , the experience of a ride through the sand dunes of Thar watching the colours of sunset at the desert horizon no one could forget ever. Imagine a night spend under the billions of twinkling stars , the biggest moon you have even seen before,  listening  to the calls of the desert red fox and footsteps of Black bucks running around ! Ofcourse, add to that a local, simple but delicious meal prepared right at the spot by your guides.

Thar has its different beauty and colour during each hours of the day. The dawn and sunrise of sand dunes have always been the dream shots for professional photographers. With the cold wind still caressing your body the desert ships would take you back to the village before the temperature rose again.
