Vietnam, August 8, 2023: Mildred Amon has been appointed director of marketing communication at Alma. Amon brings her extensive experience in branding, public and media relations, marketing communications and crisis communications to her new role after consulting for Robinsons Hotels & Resorts, the hospitality arm of one of the Philippines’ largest hotel companies, Robinsons Land Corporation.

Prior to that, Amon was director of marketing communications for Hilton Clark Sun Valley Resort in the Philippines, and director of communications at Shangri-La properties Sule Shangri-La, Yangon, Sule Square Mall & Office and Shangri-La Serviced Apartments in Myanmar.

She was also director of marketing communications at Discovery Primea, part of a Filipino hospitality group, Discovery Leisure Company, that owns and manages a collection of hotels and resorts in the Philippines, and the director of communications at Shangri-La Mactan Resort & Spa in Cebu.

Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in broadcast communications at the University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City, Amon started her career in 1994 working as a VTV programming assistant and special projects assistant. She became a public relations officer for Holiday Inn Manila in 1995 before progressing to the positions of public relations manager at the Richmonde Hotel Ortigas, group organisational communications manager and group public relations manager at P.J. Lhuillier Group of Companies, and segment business manager for media and advertising at Globe Telecom.

“Recognised and trusted by industry, Mildred is a highly-driven communications specialist and strategist with profound experience; she has an exceptional ability to think big picture and simultaneously deploy attention to detail, and will play a crucial role in promoting Alma to the world,” said Alma’s managing director Herbert Laubichler-Pichler.

Bold independently owned and operated Alma features 14 food and beverage outlets and a cascade of 12 beachfront swimming pools. Other highlights include a science museum, 6000 square metre waterpark, 13-treatment room spa, cinema, convention centre, amphitheatre, youth centre, kid’s club, water sports centre, gymnasium and yoga room and an 18-hole putting green.
