Aikyam 2, a classical and contemporary music festival organised by Santoor Ashram and Play On, is scheduled for January 30th at IIC Delhi from 5 pm to 9 pm.

Conceived as a confluence of genres and generations, Aikyam 2 brings together an illustrious line-up featuring Pt. Vishwamohan Bhatt, Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya, Pt. Salil Bhatt, Shri. Jai Shankar Mishra, Sneh Lata Mishra, Rishi Raj Mishra, Pt. Prosenjit Poddar, Pt.  Mithilesh Jha, Pt. Abhishek Mishra, Sanket Joshi and the students of Abhinayakshetra School of Bharatnatyam, New Delhi.

Curated as a seamless musical journey, the festival’s core objective is to raise funds for underprivileged students pursuing formal music education, while simultaneously creating awareness about the need to preserve India’s diverse musical traditions. The organisers emphasise that Aikyam 2 is not positioned as a standalone concert, but as a purpose-driven platform where celebrated artistes perform in support of emerging talent.

The key USP of Aikyam 2 lies in its rare, cross-genre collaboration—bringing together stalwarts of Hindustani and Carnatic traditions, alongside contemporary voices, within a single, thoughtfully curated format aimed at both connoisseurs and younger audiences.

Speaking about the initiative, Prithwiraj Roy, Secretary, Play On, said, “Preserving our rich cultural heritage must go hand in hand with nurturing the next generation of artistes. Many deserving, underprivileged musicians lack platforms and resources. Aikyam 2 is our effort to ensure they receive opportunities to learn, perform and be seen by an august audience.”

Looking ahead, Santoor Ashram and Play On plan to expand Aikyam into a travelling series across other cities, with added educational and outreach modules, reinforcing their long-term commitment to inclusive cultural development.
