I had heard a lot about Lifeyoga, the one-of-a-kind yoga center nestled amid Malcha Marg market. With its lush surroundings and promise of a community-based yoga practice, I was intrigued to experience it firsthand.
As I made my way through the canopy of peepal and banyan trees, Lifeyoga came into view, seamlessly blending into its natural surroundings. The architectural marvel, conceptualized and designed by Studio Lotus, was a sight to behold. The rich Indian palette of natural materials, particularly the deep red Mandana sandstone from Rajasthan, created a timeless and contemporary ambiance.
Upon entering the ground floor, I was greeted by the beautiful teak wood doors that led me into a serene space adorned with indigenous potted plants and mul mul scrolls hanging from the ceiling. The organic plaster lining the walls, made from a unique bio material of cow dung, gypsum, and clay, added to the calming atmosphere. The level also featured a wellness-led eatery called Eleved, as well as a retail and grocery store that seamlessly integrated with the yogic lifestyle.
Descending into the basement, I was enveloped by warm lighting emanating from a coffered ceiling. The flexibility of the space was evident, with partition walls that could be retracted to create larger areas for workshops and training programs. The soundproof walls ensured a focus on inward reflection, providing a sanctuary away from the bustling noise of the city. The advanced air filtration system guarantees clean air, even on the most polluted days. I was captivated by the juxtaposition of Iyengar walls and aerial yoga hooks, celebrating the various nuances of yoga practice.

The first floor studio was a complete contrast to the basement, flooded with sunlight and moonlight through large picture windows and a skylight that filtered soft light. Hot yoga panels challenged practitioners while the spacious washrooms featured showers, changing rooms, and steam rooms. Lockers of different sizes with USB charging points were available to store belongings, and KYK alkaline ionized water stations provided refreshing hydration. The lounge, filled with yoga-themed books, added the perfect touch to the overall experience.
Dr. Varun Veer, one of the co-founders of Lifeyoga, expressed his belief that yoga is for everyone and for every moment. He hoped to bring the joy of yoga to more people, regardless of their lifestyle, promoting physical, meditative, and lifestyle-led well-being. And Lifeyoga seemed to embody this philosophy perfectly.
Rejuvenated I left the centre with conviction to return soon. The combination of the peaceful surroundings, unique architectural design, and commitment to well-being had left a lasting impression. I knew that I had found a place where I could practice yoga, not only as a personal journey but also as a part of a supportive community.
If you’re looking to escape the fast pace of modern life and find peace within yourself, I highly recommend visiting Lifeyoga. Allow Dr. Varun Veer and Dr. Tanu Singh to guide you on your yoga journey and experience the transformative power of this ancient practice.
